Thank you for being the kind, loving man of God that you always were. You were so humble and down to earth. Thank you for being a loving father, professional Soldier and wonderful husband to one of my very best friends. Rest in peace Sir!

Message from Mike Broaddus VTCC B89
August 7, 2017 9:07 AM

To the family of Dave Wiersma, my name is Mike Broaddus. I met Dave when i was a freshman in the VTCC. Dave was a sophomore, and an upperclassman in not only another company but a different battalion. But he made a huge impression on me. Unlike most of the upperclassmen, Dave was a very professional and kind upperclassmen that set a great example for all to be. He was in super shape, wore and impeccable uniform, was professional, and never spoke badly to me, and due to all these qualities, i stood in tremendous awe of Dave. I made it a point to be a cadet like Dave was. He set a very good example for all to follow, and was the epitomy of a leader that led by reference and respect. I am sorry to learn of Dave's passing and sorry for his family in your loss. I hope God may be with you during this terrible time.
