Charles Ashton Hottle passed away December 23, 2017 in Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Virginia surrounded with loved ones. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on December 15, 1933. The son of the late Clyde and Virginia Hottle. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Lester, and Albert Hottle. Two sisters, Lucille Hutchinson, and Mary Guise.
He served in the United States Navy and worked for the Washington Star and The Washington Post Newspapers.
He is survived by his wife Martha Crummett Hottle, two sons Rodney and wife Deborah in Cheyenne, Wyo. Paul and wife Deborah in Stafford, Virginia. Five Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren. Four sisters Louise Suedkamp in Myersville, MD, Ruth Jones, and Husband Leonard in Casper, Wyo. Judy Mungle in York, Pa. and Sandra Warren in Dublin, Ga.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home on W. Braddock Rd. in Alexandria, VA. Services will be on Friday, December 29th, 2017 at 11 AM with a viewing prior to from 10 – 11 AM. Interment to follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
