On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, Donald Kiszka of Alexandria, VA. passed away.
Donald was born in Albany, New York in 1930. After graduating from Siena College in Loudonville, New York, he served in the United States Army. He started his career in finance with Shell Oil before embarking on a long career in finance and administration for colleges and universities including Siena College, Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, WV and Bradford College, Haverhill, MA.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jean Durivage Kiszka for 59 years. Loving father of Donald W. Kiszka, Jr. (Colette) of Leavenworth, KS; Thomas P. Kiszka (Flora) of Alexandria, VA; Kathie McDonald (John) of Wheeling, WV; Carol Hickey (Chris) of Lake George, NY; Linda Gompers (Edward) of Wheeling, WV; William F. Kiszka (Ann Marie) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Mary Ellen Rudis of Concord, NH; grandfather of 22, and great-grandfather of 2. In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, Donald was very active in the Catholic church, loved to travel, avid photographer, enjoyed good food and rooting for Notre Dame.
Relatives and friends may call at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Wednesday, December 20th from 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Thursday, December 21st at 10 am. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
