Dorothy Inez Dunn

September 19, 1915 ~ May 23, 2017 (age 101) 101 Years Old
September 19, 1915 - May 23, 2017.
Dorothy Inez Dunn, daughter of Ruth Adie Lee Cato and Charles Clayton Dunn passed away peacefully on May 23, 2017.

She was an administrative assistant at the supreme court and worked at the Navy Yard in Arlington VA. Dorothy was a true southern belle. Born in Prince William Co. Va in 1915 she lived in Virginia all her life. She traveled to exotic places like Scandinavia, Alaska, Japan and...Miami, Florida. But her most favorite place in the world was her little cottage at Lake Of The Woods in Fredericksburg, VA. She was the kind of person who had friends for life. She was a prolific letter writer. She would do anything for you and was generous to a fault. She had a twinkle in her eye and loved to laugh, but if you cried she cried with you, she just couldn't help it. She knew all her family history and loved to show family photos to us and tell us who everyone was. Luckily, she also wrote little notes to herself and tucked them into family heirlooms and trinkets she acquired over the years (we have lots of little notes). She was a fierce Virginia Democrat and proud of it! She was a devout Christian and long time member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA.

She is survived by many loving family members who will miss her deeply. A service to celebrate her life will be held this coming Saturday, June 3rd at 11 am at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd, Alexandria, VA.
