Grandma,
You and Grandaddy were great grandparents who treated me with kindness always. You even made home made dinners with me in mind. You both taught me a lot about life and the responsibilities that go along with it. I took many of your traits into my own life. I thank you for being who you were and living a good life in the right way. You were good people on earth and I am sure you will do the same good in heaven.
Your grandson,
Rick

My Dear Aunt Ethel...can't thank you enough for teaching me about life and the love of animals from cats to dogs to ponies at a very early age. Though you had more than your share of challenges n hardships in life you always remained strong and rose above them showing others in the family how to rise above their own life challenges. Always loved visiting at your house as you made everyone feel at home n loved. You were a woman before your time in many ways and were not afraid to do anything. You took care of a house and yard like I have never seen. Both pristine inside n out! You gave advice when asked on just about anything. Thank you for always being there for all of us. Loved our two hour phone calls n will miss them as I truly will miss you. Scotty always loved talking with you too about everything possible. You left a great legacy for all your family so please know as you look down on us that "YOU will not be forgotten" . I am so sorry that I just found out about your passing today as none of this side of the family was notified. Love you always, Bonnie n Scotty

Hi Dana - I don't think you and I have met. However, Ethel and I were 1st cousins. I attended her 100th birthday. Just found out about her death when her recent birthday card was returned to me. I want you and other family members to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. My Uncle Will was my mother's brother. (Julia Rebecca Carter Cassedy) Ethel spoke often of Dana. I have a family photo taken around 1900 when the Carter's moved from Berryville, VA to Lincolnia, VA. Uncle Will was a little barefoot boy and had cut a chunk out of the front of his hair. If you read this and can send me an e-mail address, I will forward a copy of it. Love, Jill Gerald
