Sue,
I am just learning of Howard’s passing. Although it’s years later, it’s never too late to
express sympathy and appreciation for a gentleman whom I admired and respected. You were so blessed to share your lives for so many years. I’m sending you a hug.
Sincerely,
Mildred Allen

Thinking of Howard and you, Sue, this weekend. Such joy Howard always brought us. He was full of kindness, directness, honesty, strength and courage. I learned a lot from him; sunshine in my life, that's for sure.

Dearest Sue,
I am so saddened to learn of Howard's death. Since our first meeting at NTL in Bethel, Maine, in the mid-70's, Howard was one of the people with whom I could talk and share a laugh. Even though I only saw Howard in Bethel once a year, it was always fun to catch up with him and with you. Please know I am sending loving thoughts and sympathy to you. Affectionately, Christine

I am glad to have had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Howard and Sue in 2017. He was truly a caring and wise person dedicated to promoting social justice. My heart goes out to Sue and the rest of the family as they mourn this tragic loss.

Ah, the gentle, quiet, loving ways of Howard. He always gave me that look when my thoughts were spinning out of control in my head. He did so much for so many. I'll always love this man - I know in my heart he help keep me grounded. You aren't physically here any more Howard but you'll always live on in our hearts.
