John William Rodas

John William Rodas passed peacefully at Virginia Hospital Center on the morning of August 25, 2017. He was born in Hancock, Iowa to the late Evelyn and Geerd Eden. John was later adopted by Lillian and Fred Rodas. He grew up in Mason City, Iowa. He joined the Army in 1958 and retired in 1978 from Fort Myer, Virginia.

He married his loving wife of 56 years, Nora Fitzgibbon in 1961. They raised their 2 children, Patti and John in Arlington, Virginia. John was a very caring family man and loved his hobbies which included gardening and spending time in his garage working on projects.

John is survived by his wife, children and sister Judith Norcross of Oxnard, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Mooseheart, at www.mooseheart.org. Mooseheart Child City & School is a Illinois-based nonprofit, providing support and resources to children and teens in need.
