Mark Jerome Jackson was born on August 3, 1973 in Fort Sam Houston Hospital to Jacqueline and Joe Jackson. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Samuel Kelly in Dallas/Fort Worth with his two siblings Blake and Miles.
Growing up, Mark enjoyed hanging out with his cousins during family reunions, running track and playing basketball. Mark attended Dunbar High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army on 6 December 1991 at the tender age of 18. Mark experienced the joys of traveling around the world, meeting new people, being adventurous and exploring new cultures.
Mark loved being a Leader, Mentor, and a Soldier. One of his biggest accomplishment was serving as a First Sergeant. Mark had the privilege of serving 27 years of active duty federal service. While serving, Mark accomplished his Bachelor’s degree along with certifications enriching his career along his journey as a Soldier. In 2005, Mark met the love of his life and they have been inseparable ever since.
Mark will be dearly missed by his beautiful wife Shellyann and their three gorgeous children Jerome, Jordan, and Jasmine, along with Family, Friends and loved ones. Mark lived a courageous life to the end, he fought the good fight and is now in the presence of the Lord.
