Anne J. Ulm
August 20, 1946 ~ January 27, 2024 (age 77) 77 Years Old
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne J. Ulm, beloved wife, stepmother, sister, and friend, on January 27th, 2024, at her residence in Alexandria, VA.
Anne, age 77, was born in Washington, DC, raised in Arlington, and proudly graduated from Hiram College in Ohio. Throughout her life, Anne wore many hats, serving as an office manager, meeting planner, and was always a reliable force for getting difficult things accomplished whether it be for work or for family.
Anne found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for literature and spent many hours immersed in books. Her nimble fingers were skilled in the art of knitting, creating cherished keepsakes for her loved ones. Anne was a family-oriented soul who cherished spending time with her relatives and had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, Jeremiah and Murphy Brown.
Anne found solace and joy through travel and retreats with family. From the pristine beaches of Aruba to the rugged landscapes of Alaska, the vibrant cityscapes of San Diego, the cultural tapestry of Europe, and the cherished family retreats to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Anne created lasting memories with each journey.
Anne is survived by her devoted husband, Sam, stepchildren J. Wesley Ulm of Alexandria, VA and Aaron (Lisa) Ulm of Somerset, NJ, two step-grandchildren Allison and Jason, and her brother Edward Jones of Arlington VA. Anne's impact on her family's lives was immeasurable and her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Anne's life will be held on February 10th at 11:00 AM at the Mount Vernon Unitarian Church in Alexandria, VA.
