Audrey May Kirby

Audrey May Kirby, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday December 9, 2021 with family and friends at her side.

An Alexandria native, Audrey was the 2nd oldest of 7 children and the only daughter of the late John and Nellie (Dove) Beach.  She was a graduate of George Washington High School and a longtime bank supervisor in DC.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Curtis F. Kirby.  They were members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Alexandria for many years.  She lived in her Rosemont home since it was built in the 1950s. Audrey  knew many of her neighbors.  She and Curtis would sit in front of their house, and speak to anyone who came by.  They were affectionately called the “Queen and King of Rosemont”. 

Audrey is survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her.
