Bruce Reid MacCallum

March 12, 1965 ~ April 30, 2021 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Tribute

Bruce Reid MacCallum, a beloved husband of 21 years, father, son and friend, passed away tragically far before his time on April 30, 2021 in northern Virginia. Bruce was born on March 12, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Malcolm Reid (Chip) and Anne MacCallum, both of whom predeceased him earlier in 2021.

Bruce grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he formed lifelong friendships and also developed his passion for music that he shared with all those around him. Many of his mix CDs are still in existence, possibly a cassette tape or two. A favorite inscription in his high school yearbook was "Bruce, good in band, bad in math." It was true.

A graduate of Emory & Henry College, Bruce became a print production professional with Lanman Companies/World Color and then for more than 20 years with National Geographic.

Bruce lived in Alexandria, Virginia since 1995 and more recently enjoyed a second home at Bryce Mountain, Virginia. He was also an enthusiastic traveler both within the U.S. and abroad.

Bruce is survived by his wife Leslie Mahin MacCallum and beloved daughter Noelle Reid MacCallum, as well as by his brothers-in-law whom he affectionately called "da BILs", Philip Mahin and Jonathan Gross. And too many devoted friends and extended family to list.

A service for family and friends to honor and celebrate Bruce's life will take place at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to https://pancreasfoundation.org/
