CDR Steven Bruce "Boots" Barnes, USN (Retired)

CDR Steven Bruce "Boots" Barnes, United States Navy (Retired), age 64, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  After almost a year of waiting we’ve finally received word on my dad’s funeral arrangements. The funeral service will be held at the Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer Army Base on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 9am.  Inurnment immediately following at Arlington National Cemetery. Guests should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to service.   We’re still ironing out details so more info to come, please email cheryl.barnes1@verizon.net if you plan on attending.
 

Born in Memphis Tennessee and raised in St. Louis, MO, he retired as a contractor with the Defense Department after a distinguished Naval career. He was a combat pilot in Operation Desert Storm where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat Valor and was a proud Eagle Scout.

"Boots" is survived by his wife, Jane Mary Quirk; daughter, Cheryl Quirk Barnes; son, Michael Conrad Barnes, USAF and a sister, Sharon Barnes Koch.
