Charles Buddy Durham

Charles Buddy Durham, 89, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away, Sunday, August 30th, 2020 at his home in Arlington, Virginia surrounded by family.   

Charles (Buddy) was born March 6th,1931 in Beckley, West Virginia, to Bertha and Charles Durham. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Beckley College.  Served in the US Army, honorably discharged February 21, 1953. In September of the same year married his loving wife of 65 years, Rose Beatrice. Up until his retirement, Charles was the owner of a concrete construction company serving the Northern Virginia area.

Charles was an avid golfer and eager to share his golfing accomplishment of making two “holes in one.”  He was active in his community, collecting school supplies to be distributed throughout Prince William County.  He was an avid patron of the Manassas Golden Corral where he celebrated countless birthdays, holidays, making and maintaining friendships throughout his lifetime. Charles took delight in family gatherings, visiting neighbors, and returning for visits to his home state of West Virginia.

Survived by three daughters, Linda Coffeen, Mickey Olin, Ginger Hall, his son Monte Durham, two son in-laws, Vernon Olin and Jakob Evans, five grandchildren, John and Jason Mullins, Brad Olin, Monica Cook, and Amanda Calhoun, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose Beatrice, father Charles Taff Durham, mother Bertha Elizabeth Meadows, stepfather Roy Samuel Meadows, and brother Franklyn Durham. 

Interment and a Celebration of Life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
