Elizabeth Negre Nombre

Elizabeth Negre Nombre, 67 years old of Washington, DC, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 24th of 2023 at her home in D.C.

She was born in Manila, Philippines on December 28, 1955, the daughter of Gregorio and Victoria Nombre. She is survived by her five children, Annabelle, Eliza, Jameson, Sharon, and John. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, Joseph, Daenna, Airam, Amari, Chloe, Cody, Colin, Chelsea, Adielle, Jasper, Jazzelle, Aemman, and Ave. She is also survived by her younger sister Violeta.

Elizabeth immigrated to the United States and first arrived in Orange County, California on May 24th, 2009, and left on May 24th, 2023, 14 years to the day. She gained her US citizenship on November 13, 2018, and was a proud citizen and casted votes in every election since then. She was a proud Filipino who demonstrated the culture and the goodness of being a Filipino wherever she was and with whomever she encountered.

Elizabeth endured many struggles, difficulties, and tests in life but never once gave up. Nothing ever deterred her or slowed her down. Her strong Catholic faith and direct relationship to God Almighty kept her going until her last breath.  A sense of family was very important to her. She may not have had fortunes in life, but she was rich and had an abundance of love, respect, decency, and loyalty to her family and friends. She left so many great memories and laughter for many.

Elizabeth will be celebrated on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. Matthews the Apostle in Washington, DC at 2 pm by family and friends.

She will be forever sorely missed and will never be forgotten. May God bless her soul. In Jesus' name, Amen.
