My sincere condolences for the loss of your father. I am one of Dr. Piscitelli's students. I studied with him in the late 80s. We even did an independent study in your lovely family home in Annandale once a week, with two other students. His ideas impacted me greatly and his heart won me over. He helped me transfer to UVA, where I had the honor of helping receive him as an invited guest speaker for a few days in the fall of '89. Over the years since, his passion and heart have continued to inspire me, and I've tried to keep in touch. I'm now a professor in South Korea--of Brazilian literary and cultural studies, though, not philosophy. He always told me philosophy was a part of everything so no matter what I ended up doing in life I could, and should, be a philosopher. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing, as I was looking him up for other reasons today. God bless you and the rest of your family. I will keep your father's memory alive as long as I am living.

Thank you for such a lovely message. My father’s impact on his students is very heart warming. I was blessed to be able to remind him of how many lives he touched before he died. I wish I could attend your father’s funeral, but know that I love you and I am here for you before and after the funeral however you need me to be.
I did not know your father, but I have come to know you well through our friendship over the years. Through our friendship, I know that you love your father very much. From looking at his Facebook page, it appears that he adored you.
My heart breaks for you and your family. While you are going through this difficult time, know that you still have a Father in Heaven (God) who loves you immensely. Open up your heart to Him,(questions, anger, sadness and all) and He will help you through this time of grief.
