Frank Anthony Marciniak

Tribute

Frank Anthony Marciniak, 91, a retired Army Electrical Engineer, passed away at his home of 37 years in Alexandria, VA, under the care of his niece, Kathleen, on May 27th.   Born in Hartford, CT, Frank attended the University of Notre Dame before being drafted into the Army.  In 1951 Frank graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.  Frank then taught Electrical Engineering at the Erie County Technical Institute in Buffalo, NY.  Frank was later approached to work for the U.S. Army Fort Belvoir RD&E Center as an Electrical Engineer, where he served for 30 years.  Frank retired from the Army in 1990.  Frank also worked with the Fort Belvoir Credit Union for more than ten years, serving as Chairman of the Credit Committee for nine years.  Frank was honored for the thousands of hours of his personal time spent volunteering with the Credit Union.  Frank was also a library volunteer at Parklawn Elementary School.  Frank was an active parishioner of Queen of Apostle’s Catholic Church, where he was a long-standing member of the Church Choir and often served as lector as well. 

Frank is survived by his brother William’s children, Kathleen Marciniak of Clemmons, NC and William Joseph Marciniak, Jr. of Douglasville, GA, and his half-sister, Victoria’s children, Catherine McLynn, Raymond Lang, Christina Lazo, of Grand Rapids, MN and Sister Mary, of Oklahoma City, OK. 

Visitation will be held at the Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA  22302.  The funeral Mass will be held at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 4401 Sano St., Alexandria, VA  22312 with a Veteran’s burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD  20735. Dates/Times TBA.
