In 1948, he married Vera C. Ward and they had two sons, Douglas E. Clark who resides in Alexandria and Stephen W. Clark who resides in West Palm Beach, FL. There are four grandchildren, Angela D. Harry had a long career with the Federal Government where he worked in contract management, primarily for the Navy.  He was the author of much of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) which were in use for many years. After retiring from the Federal Government, he was a procurement and contract management consultant working with local firms, and also taught courses in federal procurement policies and procedures.

He was a long-time member of Washington Street United Methodist Church in Alexandria where he served on the board and attended the statewide United Methodist Annual Conference.  He enjoyed long walks with his dogs, and working in the local community with organizations such as Meals on Wheels. Most of all, he was dedicated to his family and gave much of his time to ensuring their well-being and preserving family history.
