Hoang Danh was born on May 1st, 1945 in, Kien Giang, Vietnam. His mother was Thi Chum and his father was Danh Them. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. He was the only boy. His interest includes fishing, playing soccer, karaoke, the shuttlecock or Chinese hackie sack, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. After completing school, he joined a Buddhist monastery and eventually joined the military.
In his 20’s, he joined the South Vietnamese Army, fighting alongside American allies. He was a part of the Special Forces for about 10 year. In 1975, after the war ended, he made his journey to America, where he was sponsored by a family living in Florida. He lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 5 years before moving to Stockton, California. In 1980, he met his to be wife, Toeuy Pan. Shortly after, they wed and had 4 children, three boys and a girl. In 1985, he moved his family to Arlington, Virginia where he worked as, a Foreman for a waterproofing company, Prospect. He worked for this company for over 20 years. In 2011, he retired and enjoyed spending time with and raising his 2 grandchildren, Sovann and Natalie.
Hoang Danh was a loving, caring, hardworking, always willing to help others, and he had a great sense of humor. He meant a lot too many family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a super grandfather, and a loyal brother to many of his friends. He lived a great and fulfilling life. On June 15, 2020, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in his home as he wished for.
