Ian Alexander George Malleck

On August 10, 2017, Ian Alexander George Malleck passed away in Washington, DC.  He was born in the Royal Free Hospital in London, England on August 12, 1981.  He spent the first twelve years of his life growing up abroad in the Middle East and Northern Africa as the son of an American Foreign Service Officer. 

In 1993, Ian and his family settled in Arlington, Virginia. He attended Swanson Middle School and graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 2000.  He briefly served his country in the 82nd Airborne before returning to Arlington and working a variety of jobs.

Ian will be remembered by his loved ones for his kindness and his enormous heart.  We will be forever blessed to have had him in our lives, and in both good times and bad, his love will always be a source of both comfort and inspiration to his friends, family, and the children he helped raise. 

He is survived by his father and mother George and Anne, his brothers Stephen and Andrew, his sister Elizabeth (Kuhns), his nieces Julia and Ivey, his nephews Evan, Chase and Cassius, his sisters in-law Rachel and Kristina and his brother in-law Corey Kuhns along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ian’s life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4444 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22204.
