Jacob Calloway Brown

Jake was truly special and my favorite cousin!  He was my mom's nephew, even though they were nearly the same age.  Even though he was my cousin, I thought of him as my uncle.  I always admired Jake and June while I was growing up.  They were the perfect couple:  Jake with his smart and funny wit, June with her quiet grace.  When I married my own USNA grad, Jake and June were wonderful mentors, reassuring me that Navy life is hard, but has it's benefits.  We kept in touch through the years and I always felt proud and fortunate that Jake and June were in our lives.  They were a wonderful example of how a navy couple can thrive through the adversity of military life.  My own marriage has lasted 29 years and I hope we will be as lucky as Jake and June live such a successful life together.  I will miss his optimistic outlook and witty demeanor.  I feel lucky to have known and be related to such a wonderful person.  

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting and serving Mr. Brown (that’s what I always called him) while I was working at Sunrise of Alexandria. He was a joy and inspiration to both residents and employees there and his legacy lives in through his daughter and son. Thanks for sharing Mr. Brown with us, our lives are better off because he passed through our lives❤️.
