Janie Druanne Jones

Janie Druanne Jones, 37, of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11th, 2020. Janie’s free spirit, cheerful smile and wonderful laugh would light up any room. She had the biggest heart and would always put other people ahead of herself. Her natural caregiving skills were evident to those closest to her. She had the amazing ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and instantly feel like she is your best friend. She had a passion for culinary adventures and was always excited to serve her “Janie Creations” that never disappointed. She loved being at the beach, loved animals, loved her hometown of Blacksburg, Virginia and the Virginia Tech Hokies. Although she is gone too soon, her spirit will remain with us and always remind us to be loving and kind to one another. She is now at peace in God’s arms.

Janie was preceded in death by her mother, who she adored, Druanne Ellis Jones. She is survived by her loving father Doug Jones (Maureen Fallon), sister Katie Eller (Matt Eller and nephew Braden Eller), brother John Jones, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

She is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Jones, Frank and Mae Ellis, uncle Frank G. Ellis, aunt Patricia Jones, and cousin Jennifer Jones.

A Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg VA 24060, on Friday November 6th from 5pm to 7pm.  The Memorial Service will begin at 7pm, following the Visitation. 

In lieu of flowers, make a donation in Janie's name to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad.
