John Daly McEachern, Washington DC and Longboat Key Florida. Beloved husband, father and friend was taken from this earthly world October 17, 2018 from complications following a short illness. Born May 13, 1949, John was a native of Greenville, SC son of the late Clement Lee and Bess McEachern. John graduated from University of Hawaii and went on to earn his master’s degree in resource management at Clemson University and post graduate in landscape architecture at University of Edinburgh. His love of parks and the environment led him to found Parks of the World, a nonprofit focused on bio diversity and protection of endangered species. He was at his happiness helping his family and community where he served as church deacon, Boy Scout leader, Little League coach and many supportive roles over the years. He is survived by his wife Mary, son Ian and sister Elizabeth Chapman, nephews Matthew and Christopher Chapman of Houston Texas. Services will be held Tuesday, October 30th at 11am at Old Presbyterian Meeting House 323 South Fairfax Street Alexandria, VA 22314.
