June Cecelia (Theimer) Grimm, of Alexandria, Virginia, lived a good life of 90 years, raising two sons with her high school sweetheart, Norman E. Grimm, Sr., whom she married in February, 1951. Inspired by her patience and kindness, we will strive to live like her – asking for very little and giving so much.
Her cross-stitches reflect her love of creating artwork. A blanket, every stitch crocheted with love, is a hug from her. A jar of mayonnaise makes us laugh at the memory of her face cringing in disdain for the condiment that she felt ruined any good meal. Casseroles, pound cakes and cookies, made from June’s tattered recipe cards, will nourish our bodies and souls. We will find courage to do hard things, inspired by her ability to turn her deafness into the ability to be a remarkable listener. A hummingbird will remind us to enjoy the little things as she did.
June passed November 25, 2022, preceded in death by her parents John Vincent Theimer and Hildegarde Marie Theimer, sister Beverly Ireland, brothers Jack (Delores), Alan (Del), Bud (Phyllis) Theimer, Carl Theimer and granddaughter Cheryl Grimm.
