Lester Edward Marsh

Lester “Les” Marsh, 84, of Annandale, VA passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.  Born January 28, 1935 in Washington, D.C., Les was the son of the late Roy and Pauline Pearson Marsh.

Les is survived by his loving wife, Linda; one daughter, Lorie, of Annandale, VA; and one son, William, of Strasburg, VA; one brother, James, of Fullerton, CA; and one sister, Joyce, of Chesapeake, VA.  He was preceded in death by brothers Ray and Roy.

Mr. Marsh was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.  His classification was as a Navy Seal.  He received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained and the Presidential Medal of Freedom as well as the Medal of Honor from President John F. Kennedy.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on July 6, 2019 at the Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 9301 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA, where Les was a member.  Lunch immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
