Lorene Dyson Dow of Alexandria, Va, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the Virginia Hospital Center following a brief illness. She was born in Dinwiddie County, Va, on July 13, 1928, to Charles E. and Ruth H. Dyson. Shortly thereafter, she moved with her family in Alexandria. She enjoyed a distinguished career of many years with the U.S. Geological Survey, where she rose from the position of personal assistant to the Chief Geologist. She was a remarkable and loving person, was full of life, and very active until the onset of her illness. Her sister Joann Wilkes and her brother Danny Dyson predeceased her. Her marriage to Donald Dow ended with his death in 1983. Subsequently, she engaged in a wonderful relationship with Daniel Krinsley of Washington, D.C., who has been her loving partner for many years and who survives her. She is also survived by several cousins, nephews, and nieces with whom she had close and enduring relationships.
Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Rd, Alexandria, Va. Interment will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 2823 King Street, Alexandria, Va.
