MASTER SERGEANT, UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

Jeffrey Chet Briar, age 43, passed away September 22, 2019 while bravely rescuing two children during a swimming accident off the coast of Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California.

Jeffrey served as the communications chief with the Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group and has been an integral member of the Marine Corps since May 2000.

He is survived by his father, Larry Edward Briar; mother, Deborah Robinson and her husband, Timothy; brothers, Larry Edward Briar, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; John Andrew Briar and his wife, Laura; three nieces and two nephews as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeffrey was predeceased by wife, Paris Briar and great niece, Harper Rose Briar.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, November 11, 2019 at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, Virginia. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, November 12, 2019 at Arlington National Cemetery.
