Margie Purvis Bolton

Margie Purvis Bolton, 95, passed away peacefully at Somerford Place, Hagerstown, MD on, August 5, 2018. Born in 1922, she was a lifelong resident of Alexandria, VA.  Margie was a graduate of George Washington High School and Strayer College. She was an active and devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the International Order of Eastern Star and Del Ray, later Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Margie was predeceased by Cleveland Lee Bolton, Jr. her devoted husband of 40 years.  She is survived by her sister, Jane Rader, her son Todd, daughter-in-law, Judy Hoffman Bolton, three grandchildren, Laurie Whittington, Graham Bolton and Spencer Bolton, and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ian Whittington and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 8th  from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9th at 11 Am. Interment to follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.
