Maria Elena Guerra

She was born in Lima, Peru.  She graduated from Rosa de Santa Maria All Girls High school in 1958 and then continued her Literature and Journalism studies at Universidad Mayor de San Marcos.  She worked as elementary teacher and then for a well know TV producer and TV Host in Lima, after several years she immigrated to Washington DC, USA where she worked as an Spanish teacher and for the Hispanic Radio.

Her multiphasetic mind took her to all areas of work, she wrote short stories and poems, she also love photography so she developed that area too.  She was an avid traveler up to the end of her life.These past years she dedicated more time to her philanthropic work in the small town of Huangascar, Lima, Peru, where her father was born.  Her love for children was the generator of this work.She left us surrounded by all her sisters, brother and nieces and nephews.
