Marianne D. Erb

Marianne passed away peacefully on March 31st at the age of 98.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ann and Carl Dietrich, her sister Ruth Haines, and her husband Colonel (Retired) John J. Erb, Jr.  She leaves behind her son, Colonel (Retired) John J. Erb, III and his wife Margie; as well as her granddaughters Melissa Erb and Stephanie Imamura and great grandchildren Ryan and Riley Imamura.

After spending decades as a proud Army wife, Marianne lost her husband in 1986 after over 40 years of marriage.  She lived independently in Springfield, Virginia and Brecksville, Ohio for the rest of her life, culminating the past 7 years at Greenspring Village in Springfield.  She was always gracious to all she met, and a pillar of strength to her family.

She will be buried with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  Her favorite charity was Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
