Mary Kathryn Seliskar

Mary Kathryn Seliskar, 85 passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington June 11,2021.

Mary was born in Chicago and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.  After a young life spent  beginning her college studies and exploring Europe with the State Department, she settled in Arlington, Virginia to raise her family with her husband of 50 years John, who preceded her in death July 12 2011.  

Mary loved to meet new people and learn about their stories.  A lover of music, reading, discovery and travel, she was always exploring and learning new things.  She balanced a full career with the US State Department and raising a family and in the process also managed to fit in the completion of her college degree and a real estate license.

Mary is survived by her sister Marge Anthony, her sons John Seliskar, with his wife Christine and their son John William, and Daniel Seliskar, with his wife Fontaine and their sons Stephen and Andrew, and her daughter Kathryn Seliskar. 

A memorial service will be held in Arlington later this year.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
