Mary Elona "Toni" Willkie

Mary Elona “Toni” Willkie, a native of Washington, D.C., passed away on February 6, 2021, with her beloved granddaughter, Karlie Smith, at her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents Col. William H. Schildroth and Mary Elona von Culin Schildroth, her brother William H. Schildroth, her husband Joseph Brian Willkie, and her daughter, Nancy Eileen Hogan who died in March of 2020. 

She is survived by her son, William J Willkie, his wife Carolyn, grandchildren, Karlie Smith, her husband Markus, Colin Willkie, Brian Hogan, and greatgrandchild, Bryce Smith.

Mary loved traveling with her husband to all parts of the world, cooking for family and friends, reading, and she had a strong love of family.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Goodwin House for their support and care of her for these past 23 years.

A celebration of life for both Mary and Nancy will be held in the future when conditions allow.
