Myrtle Conrad Clark

April 16, 1927 ~ December 5, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Tribute

Mrs. Clark, nicknamed Tookie, was born in Louisiana on April 16, 1927. She attended
Louisiana State University, where she met her husband, Glenwood Clark. Whom she married
June 9, 1949 in her hometown, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Tookie before marriage completed
her Bachelor's Degree at Southwestern.

After her wedding she and Glen lived in various locations, some states being New Jersey,
Virginia, Florida, and California. Tookie was a wonderful mother and wife. She gave birth to
two children, John Glenwood Clark, who now resides in Los Angeles, California and a daughter,
Pamela Joy Clark Brown. Pam lives in Landenberg, Pennsylvania.

She brought a lot of joy and life to her family. If it wasn’t for her they all would never have
played golf. Golf became the Clark family’s favorite pastime. She introduced the game to Glen
by buying two sets of clubs and one pull cart for just Glen. And surprised Glen when he got
home from a business trip. There golfing endeavors led them to have regular scores in the
upper and lower 80’s.

Some of Tookie’s most enjoyable golf was with Natalie Carney, Peggy Twisdale and Nada
Reuse. She was appreciated by many parents at Army Navy Country Club for running the
Junior Golf Program.

Tookie was a great bridge player. She’d come home and tell of everyone’s hand and play.
She’d redo some play of hands to figure out what would have been better. Quadruple Solitaire
was our favorite pastime when we were young and before golf.
Mom loved to dance. A favorite picture of her shows her poised as though she is dancing down
the runway of a beauty contest. She won two beauty contests before becoming the Sigma Chi
Fraternity Sweetheart at LSU.

She was beauty, brains and a most loving big sister -even though there was 12 years age
difference between she and Joy Baugh. She has two brothers Edward and Kenneth.
Tookie Clark launched the USS Alexandria in Groton, Connecticut on June 23,1990. Named for
Alexandria, VA and Alexandria, LA. Mom served as sponsor of the ship, a Nuclear Attack
Submarine.

Her youngest relations are her grandchildren Kimberly Fisher and Westin Clark followed by Kim
and Cory’s children, Samuel and Emma Fisher.

Ceremonies will begin at 10:30, April 18, 2018 at the USNA St. Andrew's Chapel followed by the
11:30 Crematorium Service. This is a private service. If you wish to attend please contact, Pam
