Nancy Rosario Berrios

Nancy Rosario Sánchez de Berrios passed away in her home on October 29, 2021 at 78 years old surrounded by her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Nancy was filled with love, life, and strength. She was born on June 14, 1943 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Nancy worked as a physical education teacher in Bolivia. She immigrated with her youngest daughter and husband to the United States in 1991, and lived in Alexandria, Virginia for most of her life here. She was a stroke survivor, devoted Catholic, and an inspiration to many. Nancy will forever live on in our hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jorge Berrios; children Raul, Carola, Pamela, Nadine, Juan Carlos, and Marcelo; grandchildren Joan, Ellen, Marco, Rachel, Juan, Lluvia, Carlos, Kenny, Melanie, Sara, Luis, William, Christian, and Kaela; great-grandchildren Alejandra, Noah, Lorelai, Luz, Toñito, Ixchel, and Santiago; siblings Jorge, Stella, and Silvia. She is predeceased by her brother Oscar.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 12:30pm in St. Bernadette’s Church: 7600 Old Keene Mill Rd Springfield, VA 22152. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, an organization which Nancy loved and donated to.
