Roxanne,

You probably don't remember me we both attended The America school of Bucharest. My father at the time was the Nigerian Ambassador. Your father was a great man as young as I was back then I could sense his importance. My sincere condolences to you and your wonderful mother my thought and prayers are with you and your family may his soul rest in peace with the other giants who went before.

As a young first-tour Foreign Service Officer in the mid-70s, I had the privilege of serving under Ambassador Rudy Aggrey at the U.S. Embassy in Dakar, Senegal. He was a real professional, a great boss, and a uniquely effective ambassador. He and Francoise were very generous to my wife Susan and me as we were starting our State Department career. I will always be great for that support and encouragement. My sincere condolences to the Aggrey family

I treasure memories of Ambassador Aggrey from working with him at Howard University at the Howard University Press and in meetings related thereto. I also have vivid memories of interacting with him and his lovely wife, Francoise, in our home and theirs as my husband, Edwin Wilson, framed some of their beautiful art pieces from Africa. We had several delightful meals together, and many pleasant conversations.Edwin passed away in February, 2008.

Ambassador Aggrey was a very cultivated person who held himself and others to the highest standards. He sought to maintain and extend the high rankings of the Howard University Press as an institutional and societal asset. He was always very business-like, and did not compromise on the quality of the Press's publications.

He will be missed very much by those of us who knew him well. Deepest sympathy to Francoise and Roxane.
