Pathom Simananda

On the early morning of January 31, 2023, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Pathom Simananda passed away peacefully at Inova Alexandria Hospital at the age of 84.

 Pathom was born in Bangkok, Thailand to late parents Prakit and Chompon Simananda. After graduating from Chulalongkorn University with a bachelor's degree in political science, Pathom came to the United States to continue his education and graduated from Morris Harvey College (University of Charleston) in West Virginia. He established roots in Alexandria, Virginia, where he spent most of his life. Pathom was a restaurateur who, along with his business associates, opened Thai Taste in Washington, D.C. Pathom was extremely charismatic, made many friends, and touched the lives of everyone around him through his gentle and generous spirit. He was an honest, kind, loving, and selfless man who was affectionately known as "Boo", "Pop-Pop", or “Tha-Tha” by his grandchildren.

 Pathom is survived by his devoted wife Chumnongchit, daughter Teeranuj (Lonzell), son Tee (Kate), five grandchildren: Casey, Ethan, Quentin, Benson, and Gemma, as well as the Tiengtum family including Udomsak and Chanphen, Tony (Laura, Jackson, Davin, Malia), Lynda (Cordelle and Morgan) Donny (Kaija, Henrik and Amaya) and countless wonderful friends and extended family.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
