It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca “Becki” Rose. Becki passed away unexpectedly on Saturday the 1st of September 2018. She was born, 26 February 1954, in Knoxville Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee (B.S. in Mathematics), Christopher Newport University (B.S. in Nursing) and Marymount University with a Masters in Organizational Management. She is survived by her husband (Scott), mother (Erma), daughter (Shawn), son (Donald), 2 grandchildren (Craig, Krista), and 6 great grandchildren.
Becki joined Virginia Hospital Center – Alexandria in January 1998 and served in multiple leadership positions including Patient Care Director, Associate Vice President in Patient Care Services and her most recent position of Senior Director of Systems and Special Projects. She was very passionate about her work and extremely committed to the development and success of her nurses, Arlington Hospital and its staff as well as the care of her patients.
In her off time she enjoyed many hobbies including skydiving (onetime world record co-holder), sailing, scuba diving (PADI Advanced Open Water Diver), and hunting Africa with her husband. Becki also studies at the Gemological Institute of America, receiving her certification as a Graduate Gemologist. Rebecca was loved by many, truly enjoyed her life, and sharing her many adventures with friends and co-workers.
