Rosa Vargas Goff

Rosa Vargas Goff, 68, passed away recently due to a long battle with an illness.

Rosa was born in La Oroya, Peru and moved to the United States in 1984.

Rosa worked in housekeeping throughout most of her career and her most recent position was in food services at Annandale Health Care.

Rosa was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA.

Rosa is preceded in death by her father, Alejandro Pedro Vargas Leon.

Rosa is survived by her loving son Jorge-Manuel (Jim), her brothers Tomas (Nancy), Micheal, Manuel (Gabby), sisters Gladys (Oswaldo), and Elizabeth (Dragomir-DJ), her mother Mercedes, and several nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Rosa’s interests included knitting, quilting, cooking, dancing, Bible reading, listening to Christian radio, being surrounded by children, family, and close friends. She had a special love for her beloved fur babies, Kimmy & Oscar. Rosa was a person that was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need or an ear to anyone who needed a friend to talk to. Rosa knew no strangers, people were drawn to her with her tender personality.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the Dr’s, nurses, and Oncology team during her illness. A special thanks goes out to Fr. Peter St. George who visited Rosa in the hospital, and a special thanks to Heidi Martinez who was Rosa’s caretaker in her final months. 

Rosa was a person that could put a smile on your face during the toughest times and a person that you could count on as a true friend.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2-4PM and 5-7PM, with a rosary being prayed at 6:00PM at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302, with Fr. Peter St. George, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the careful care of Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home.
