Roslyn D. Gadley

Roslyn Delphine Gadley was born on February 6, 1953, in Buffalo, New York. Best known as “Ros” she left Buffalo in 1972 to attend Howard University in Washington, DC. While at Howard, she met her late husband of more than 35 years Bai Bai Koroma, and they built a life together in Alexandria, VA. 

A free spirit, music lover, community activist, and woman of faith, Ros always fought for the rights of others and was heavily involved in her community. One of her favorite hobbies was to create special gifts, jewelry and notes by hand. She was an avid reader and championed for the rights of seniors, tenants, and for those working in home healthcare. 

Ros was well known for her positive energy, kindness, healthy lifestyle, and eagerness to help others any way she could. She also loved to go for long walks around the neighborhood and create her homemade healthy vegetable juices. 

Above all, she loved her family and prayed for them and for those in her community daily. 

She is survived by her one and only loving daughter, Kadia Koroma, sisters - Loretta Gadley, Sylvia Davis, and Denise Gadley, her brother John Wright, many nieces, nephews, and special friends that she adored and cherished.  

Although the family is grieving this unexpected loss, we are also celebrating the life and spirit of Roslyn. 

A funeral service will take place at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home on April 1, 2023 at 11am with the interment at Fairfax Memorial Park to follow. There will also be a repast at 5950 Grand Pavilion Way, Alexandria, VA 22303 following the interment.
