Ruth T. Woods

On December 5, 2020 RUTH T. WOODS of Alexandria, VA passed away peacefully. She was born in Gary, Indiana, and raised in Cherryvale, Kansas and Chicago, Illinois. She enjoyed living in Alexandria's Rosemont and Parkfairfax neighborhoods since 1957. She began her career as a real estate agent, and became a community activist, a member of the League of Women Voters, and was involved in Alexandria politics. She supported the mission of Burgundy Farm Country Day School from 1977-1989, which culminated in her becoming President of the Board of Directors from 1979 to 1981. 

She is survived by four daughters, Robin Woods, Rebecca Woods (Jim Combs), Randy McKlveen, and Renee Stramel (Jim); four grandchildren, Christine Gordon (Jason), Sean McKlveen (Christine), Erin Murray (Rich), and Casey Morris (Devin), as well as ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Robert L. Woods, on December 5, 2006.
