To the family of Sam Evans
My name is Amare Eyassu. I worked with Sam for many years. I just found out about his passing. I wish I was there at his funeral. it would have meant a lot to me. My deepest condolence to his daughters whom he use to mention about them to me all the time and to his wife. RIP

We’re going to miss Sam. We’ve always enjoyed talking with him & Jean as they walked by the house.
I realized his passion for baseball back when he would call to find out where Jeff was playing (when at WSHS, or Clark Griffith leagues), and would then come out to watch the games, even when they were played on the other side of the county. My own attendance at these games dropped off significantly when his condition kept him from going out and I no longer received his reminder calls about WSHS baseball or football games. He was a good friend, and I have lots of good memories of the times we shared, watching and discussing the games and teams. Rest in peace, Sam.

It is very hard to admit that Sam is gone..he was a remarkable athlete, a great friend to all, a perfect gentleman and an adoring husband to Jean. It was a privilege for me and my husband, Louis to have known him and I know he has made Heaven a all the more beautiful with his presence. Love to all the girls, Lillian

Please accept our sincere condolences during this difficult time. It has been a privilege to have known Sam. He had a wonderful passion for youth baseball and was a positive influence on many young men. We will miss him but his legacy will live on in the young men that he coached. May he rest in peace.
