Sharon Emerson Granzin, of Hendersonville, NC, left this earth to join her Lord in heaven on her 79th birthday on June 14, 2017. She was born in Washington, DC, to the late J. Martin and Molly Emerson.
She graduated from high school in Annapolis, MD. She continued her education earning a bachelor's and master's degrees in Education at the University of Maryland. After living for many years in the Annapolis area, she relocated to Salt Lake County, UT, continuing her education at the University of Utah. Sharon lived in Utah for 13 years and later lived 17 years in Hendersonville. She taught home economics and elementary education in Maryland, Virginia, and Utah for over 20 years.
Sharon was a devout Christian Scientist and a member of First Church, Hendersonville NC. Her interests included serving her church, flower gardening, counted cross-stitching, decorating her house for holidays, playing the piano, and following local, national, and international news.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sweetheart, best friend, and devoted husband of 30 years, Ken; daughter, Diana, of Glen Burnie, MD; brother Carl Cummings (Rocky) of Mayo, MD; and brother Jay (Shirley) of Leesburg, VA. No funeral service will be held.
