Sherree Lynn Madsen Kirby passed away peacefully at 5:45 AM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew Calvin Madsen and Marjorie Mangum and survived by her husband of 35 years, Theodore Franklin Kirby, her brother Calvin Dee Madsen (Rose), her sister Janis Gene Clements (Steven), and 11 Nieces and Nephews.
She was a caring, loving person in life and made fast friends with her kindness. She enjoyed crafting (cross-stich, crochet, and tatting). She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in various capacities in the church throughout her life.
She graduated from Groveton High School, Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) and Brigham Young University (BYU) with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked as a Medical Technologist, mostly in hospitals for many years before transitioning to Environmental Technologist with the Fairfax County Health Department before she left work to care for her mother.
She loved animals, especially cats and was always happiest when she had a cat or two around. She enjoyed watching and laughing with her kitties when they were up to their usual antics.
She also enjoyed British TV, especially on the PBS Station WETA-UK. Contributions can be made to WETA-UK instead of flowers, if desired.
