Stanley Thomas Oravec

On Tuesday, February 20, 2018 of Garland, North Carolina. Stanley Thomas Oravec served in the Marine Corp as a Buck Sergent in the USMC.  He enlisted on August 24, 1953 and served 16 months in Korea and was honorably discharged on August 25, 1956.  Stanley was also very active in the SSAA softball and became a coach for many years.  He also was inducted into the SSAA Hall of Fame 2006.  Stanley was also involved with CSA in VA as President for many years.  

Stanley is survived by his wife, Charlene Rose; daughters, Jamie Weaver, Desireè Toler, and Tara Oravec; grandchildren, Jacob Weaver, Morgan Haddad, McCabe Weaver, McKenna Toler, Amber Toler, Hudson Barrett, and Storm Barrett; great-grandchildren, Brody Weaver, Logan Weaver, Sunny Haddad, and Daisy Haddad; siblings, Connie Huffman, William “Butch” Oravec, and Patricia “Patti” Stultz. Preceded by his parents, Kathleen and Joseph Oravec; and siblings, Lucille Balya and Joseph “Joey” Oravec.

Relatives and friends may call at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Please share your memories and leave your condolences for his family by signing the guestbook. Inurnment will be held privately at Arlington National Cemetery.
