Theodore Keith Sloper

Theodore “Teddy” K. Sloper passed on May 30, 2017 in his home in Alexandria, VA, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on Sept. 18, 1935 in Alexandria, VA, to the late Rose and Walter Sloper. Teddy was an alumnus of George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy 1953-1956 on the USS Myles C. Fox (DDR 829). Teddy enjoyed coaching baseball for the Fairfax County Pioneer from 1980-1988; and retired from the Federal Reserve Board in May 1998.

Teddy was preceded by his loving wife Martha M. Sloper, stepson Stuart A. Brown, Jr., brothers; Walter L. Sloper, Jr., Donald W. Sloper. He is survived by a son William E. Sloper; three step-daughters; Billie Kay Denbo, Denise D. Williams, and Dorothy M. Boyette, 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The viewing will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Rd, Alexandria, VA 22302. The funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God on June 5, 2017 at 11:00 am, located at 700 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA, with interment to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
