Tieng Niphadkabin

 Tieng Niphadkabin, 76, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, December 1, 2022.  He is survived by his wife, Hataya Niphadkabin; daughter, Roslyn Niphadkabin; son, Charles Niphadkabin; daughter-in-law, Julie Niphadkabin; and his grandchildren Chloe, Sophie, and Jaxon along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

 Tieng was born on January 21, 1946 in Bangkok, Thailand and was the youngest of five siblings.  He graduated from Thammasat University with a Bachelor’s degree.  After college, his desire to make a better life for himself gave him the courage to migrate to the United States to achieve the American dream.  He worked various side jobs to put himself through graduate school achieving his Master’s degree from the College of Insurance (St. John’s University).  Early in his career he worked as an Insurance Underwriter but had ambitions to work for himself. As an entrepreneur, he owned and operated several successful businesses throughout his career including convenience stores, restaurants, video stores, and import/export businesses. 

 Tieng was a stern, no-nonsense man, and a faithful Buddhist devoted to his family. A man of action and few words, he raised his children by example to be honest, kind, and sincere. He was a truly selfless individual and the thing he loved most was witnessing the accomplishments of his family, friends, and the fruits of his own labor.

The visitation and cremation ceremony will be held at Everly-Wheatly Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA on Friday, December 9, 2022, starting at 10:00 am.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
