Vincenta Barquin (94)

Vincenta Barquin (“Vi”) of Occoquan Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the age of 94.  She is preceded in death by her husband Peter Joseph Barquin Sr., her daughter Karyn Barquin, and her son Peter Joseph Barquin Jr.  She is survived by her grandson, Richard Waterman and his wife Karli, their daughters Mia and Alyssa, her sister Susan Sanchez, her son-in-law G. Richard Waterman Jr., her daughter-in-law Julie Mastin and many other loving family members. 

Vi was born on December 13, 1923 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey; the daughter of the late Jiesus Aguero and Emilia Gutverrer.  She was extremely devoted to her family.  She and her husband raised their children in Staten Island surrounded by their large extended Spanish family.  She had a superb “green thumb” and loved tending to her garden, enjoyed cooking and baking delicious desserts and most of all treasured spending time with her loved ones.  The family will receive friends at the Everly Wheatly Funeral Home, at 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, Virginia at 11am on Saturday April 28, 2018.  A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12pm.  Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
