Carmel was a special friend and colleague for the many years we worked in APS and for the years since. We may not have had the opportunity to meet very often, but she never forgot a birthday or helped celebrate a special events as long as her health allowed her to participate. She will be missed by all especially her family and my prayers that some day you will meet again in Glory. God bless you all!

Thank you, Lois, for that warm remembrance. Mom spoke of you often. Friends like you were special to her, always.

Carmel...you were a great friend and colleague......I felt so lucky that our friendship continued long after we both left APS. I always enjoyed your notes and chats. Bless you and all of your family.

Bob,
As you know, Mom's APS friends were special to her always, and your frequent contact was always a light in her days. She spoke of you fondly and always let me know when you had been in touch. Thank you so much for being there for mom. It was good to talk to you the other day, and to hear the warmth and care you had for mom. My sisters and I are glad she had such a strong network and you were key to keeping it together. With thanks, John

Our prayers and heartfelt thoughts are on their way to the families of Carmel Fitzpatrick, Sr., mother of Carmel Fitzpatrick Steindam, wife of Thomas Michael Steindam, mother of Claire Elaine Steindam; sister of John Fitzpatrick and his family; and sister of Margaret Fitzpatrick Black and her family. We got to know Carmel Sr. well when she attended Marilyn's and Doug's wedding 29 years ago in NW Ohio. We socialized with her more at Carmel Jr.'s and Tom's wedding 28 years ago, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Alexandria, VA 22302. We enjoyed family meals at several places in the northern VA area over the years. We enjoyed being with her at her daughter's and granddaughter's activities at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Her passing is a very deep loss to our Virginia-based relatives and us who enjoyed visiting them during holidays and athletic events in the DC, MD, VA geographic area. May she rest in peace with Her Maker and her kin who preceded her through The Gateway.
