Edward was one of the first people I met when I began working the Library in 1972. I joined his morning coffee break group, and discovered his wry wit. I also benefited from his insights about the Library and met others thru him. Edward could speak about anything,, history, foreign affairs, music, or politics among them, and much else as well. He was always worth listening to, and whatever he said was usually leavened by his humor. After we all were retired, Ed, John Kimball and I used to meet once a month for several years. As we aged these became less frequent. I always enjoyed these catch-up sessions. Ed would frequently regale us with stories of his travel. One story, about the parrot latching on to his arm in Dubrovnik, was hilarious.
I will certainly miss Edward very much, but I am grateful to have known him for so many years

I worked with and got to know Ed at LC in the Union Catalog & Internatonal Organization Section. We became and remained friends throughout my career at LC. He was one of the most interesting and intelligent people I met during my career at the Library. He will be missed.

Ed and I worked in the old General Reference & Bibliography Division of the Library for many years. He was a well-respected and valued colleague, with an impressive amount of knowledge about many subjects. We enjoyed his sense of humor and appreciated his courtesy and kindness. With deepest sympathy to his husband and all his family.

Hi
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed.
I work at the Library of Congress. I never actually worked in the same section as Ed, but at a nearby office. I do remember Ed as a really nice guy who enjoyed his work.
My prayers to his family
