Alton Chester Vaughn, Jr., age 63, of Springfield, VA died on February 12, 2017 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA. He was born on September 26, 1953 in Alexandria, VA to Alton Chester (Buddy) Vaughn, Sr. and the late Lois Clyburn Vaughn.
Alton was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked as a Quality Assurance Representative for the U.S. Army.
Alton was the beloved longtime partner of Gail Nagle, brother of Susie Vaughn, David Vaughn, Patricia Vaughn and Judy Fincham, loving companion of Casper, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24th from 11am to 12 noon at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA, where a memorial service will be held at 12 noon. Inurnment will immediately follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hero Dogs (www.hero-dogs.org), P.O. Box 64, Brookeville, MD 20833-0064.
