It was always a joy to look forward to Polly's arrival at the Beach Club Hotel. We had such a great time the month she visited in Naples. She is missed but fondly remembered with love

Dear Family of Polly Burke, We send our deepest sympathy at the passing of this extraordinary woman. We had the pleasure of meeting Polly (she refused to be addressed as Mrs. Burke -- please call me "Polly") while walking in Alexandria last Summer and being invited into her garden. We sent her flowers the next day to thank her for her gracious hospitality and called her a few days later to check in on her and chat (what a gifted conversationalist). She was a true lady and we were blessed to have had this chance encounter with her. Again, we send our heart-felt sympathy to you all.

Dear Tony....as one of your first cousins I only saw you a few times, since I lived in Florida and many other places during our lives as you did, too.The first time I remember you, you were about 17 and I thought you were so good looking. I am so sorry we have to lose our loved ones as we age. I have ALWAYS know you thought the world of your step mother, whom obviously was more of your real mother. You have always expressed how dear your step mother was to you and how appreciative you were that you had chosen for her to raise you. Having read this obituary, I am awed. What a LOVELY mother and life you had to have had growing up. My father thought the world of your father, his one time brother-in-law. Your father died just one year after my daddy died. Tony, I am sorry. What an absolutely a lovely LADY she was. You don't have a lot to compare her raising you, but you and your father and all your family were so fortunate to have had her in your lives. She obviously was a beautiful soul. Reading what I just read about her; it is also obvious she was your real mother and had enough love in her to love you as her birth son. You were so blessed! Love to you, Joy

Dear Governor, Marney and Julian,
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I love that gal! She was always so fun, and always so welcoming when we invaded your space on Prince St. Will be thinking of you and all her grandchildren during this difficult time. Hugs!

With tears in my eyes of such wonderful happy memories of Polly, my second mother
& 109 Prince Street! Running in & out of each others houses, being raised & disciplined by parents & neighbors - what a blessed childhood & we knew it.
Polly was special :)
